Conditional 2

CONDITIONAL 2

COMPARE:

If I have more time, I will go to the party. (possible)

If I had more time, I would go to the party. (imaginary)

STRUCURE:

IF + past tense, WOULD

We use CONDITIONAL 2 to express imaginary ideas.

If I knew about it ….means "I don't know about it”

If I had more money …means "I am poor”

I would tell you…..means "I can't tell you”

I would be happy….means "I'm not happy”

REMEMBER !!!

We say: If I were you (not: If I was you)
