INFINITIVE OF PURPOSE

 - is used to say why a person does something

I went to the cafe to meet a friend.

Gerda would like to go to England to practice her English.

 - is used to say what another person should do

I told him to wait for me. (I told him: "Wait for me.”)

She wants me to go home. (She told me: "Go home”)

 - in the negative there is just NOT added

She told me not to visit her anymore.

I asked him not to make so much noise.

 - MAKE and LET are followed by verbs without TO

She didn't want to let me go.

The policemen made us get out of the car.
