Plane ended in sea
A plane landed on water near Bali. The plane missed the airport. The plane was broken. All one hundred and eight people on board survived.
More than 16 people were taken to the hospital because they had problems in their bodies. We don't know how many people have very big problems.

Students protest in Chile
Students in Chile protested in the streets. Police met with the students. Students used rocks and small homemade bombs. Police used water cannon and gas.
In the beginning, the protest was nice but it ended badly. People started to fight. It was dangerous. Demonstrations are normal in Chile. People want better education but education is a big political problem.
Students got some money this year but they want more. Students say that some public schools are bad. They also say that the private schools are expensive.

Water fights with elephants
People in Thailand celebrated the first day of their New Year. People painted pictures on elephants. People started water fights. People put water on elephants and the elephants put water on people. Some people liked it very much.
During the three day celebration, people also visit temples and put water on the Buddha statues. This celebration comes at a good time because in April it is the hottest month in Thailand. Temperatures can be very high, sometimes as high as 40 degrees Celsius. So it is very nice when somebody puts cold water on you.

Marathon in Sahara Desert
There is a marathon in the Sahara Desert. It is 75 kilometers long. The best runners finish it in seven hours. The slowest runners can run for up to 30 hours. Most people start at the same time. The best 15 men and women start later.
The marathon is not easy. People know this. It is very hot. It is very important to drink a lot of water. It is also important not to start very fast.
The way is also difficult because it changes. Sometimes the marathon goes up or down very much. The runners have to change their speed too.

Dog saved from underground
A dog couldn't move for days underground. It was in a pipe for five days. The exit was blocked. The dog's owner was very stressed. People used a big machine. They wanted to make a hole.
Firemen helped too. They used a machine and they made a big hole. The hole was 3 meters deep. It took six hours to make this hole. Then one man went down into the pipe. He came back and he was holding the dog. It was a very nice moment. This story has a happy end.
